Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council Hires Executive Director

St. Louis, MO, January 28, 2014  – The Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council (Mid-States MSDC), one of 24 affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) has hired Rhonda Carter Adams as the Executive Director for the St. Louis/Eastern Missouri area.

The Mid-States MSDC is the new regional affiliate council serving Central Illinois, Indiana and Eastern Missouri.  The Council replaces the former St. Louis Minority Supplier Development Council in the area and is the result of a strategic national restructuring that affected the former St. Louis affiliate, the former Indiana Minority Supplier Development Council and a portion of the former Wisconsin, Iowa and Central Illinois Minority Supplier Development Council.

Adams most recently served as the Supplier Diversity Specialist with the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis.  Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank she was Supplier Diversity Manager for Caterpillar Inc., in Peoria, IL and held several positions there during her 15 year tenure.

“We are very happy to have Rhonda join the Mid-States MSDC in the St. Louis area,” said Carolyn E. Mosby, President and CEO.  “Her corporate background along with her supplier diversity experience and relationships in St. Louis and Central Illinois will be a great asset as we build this new regional structure.”

Adams is a graduate of Jackson State University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and also has a Master of Business Administration in Global Management from the University of Phoenix.

Adams will oversee operations in the new St. Louis office that will be staffed with three full-time employees to support the local and national corporate members and certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) in the region.  She will be responsible for managing member relationships and the recruitment of local corporate members and customers in the area. She will also serve as an advocate for MBEs to corporate members, while working with corporations to better understand corporate procurement needs and defining effective scenarios for both entities.
