Wastewater System Expansion

CITY OF FRANKFORT, INDIANA

WASTEWATER SYSTEM EXPANSION, CONTRACT A – WWTP

The work shall include the following items:

Replacement of four raw sewage pumps

Rehabilitation of the four equalization lagoons concrete and valve replacement

Reconstruction of existing lagoon-controlled rate pumps

Construction of a new controlled rate pump station

Construction of a new anaerobic basin

Conversion of two primary clarifiers into anoxic basins

Conversion of two aerobic digesters into aeration basins

Addition of two new turbo aeration blowers

Construction of a new internal mixed liquor pump station

Construction of two new secondary clarifiers

Construction of a new RAS/WAS pump station

Conversion of two existing secondary clarifiers into WAS and digested sludge holding

basins, along with supporting pumping

Replacement of four tertiary sand filters with cloth media filters

Construction of a new sludge thickening and dewatering building

Conversion of a secondary anaerobic digester into a primary digester, along with supporting mixing, pumping and heating

Construction of a new long term biosolids storage building

The work also includes yard piping, process piping, demolition, excavation, dewatering, regrading, paving, landscaping, coatings, electrical, instrumentation and control, clean up, and all other appurtenances necessary to complete the work shown on the project

drawings and included in the project manual.

This project is federally funded through the State Revolving Fund Loan Program and as such is subject to the American Iron and Steel (AIS) Act and Davis-Bacon Wages.

The diversity goals for the project are 7% MBE and 5% WBE.
